About
Name: Nkanyezi Nandi Sigasa
DOB: 1986/06/27
I come from a small loving, supportive family of strong women, made up of me, my younger sister and my mother.
I was born in the east of Gauteng, Duduza township in Nigel. Then later move to small suburb in Nigel. Where my sister and I were raised by my mother.
I Attended school at Selcourt primary school in Springs. Then completed high school at Springs girls high schools.
I moved to Cape Town after matric where I completed my MBChB at the University of Cape Town in 2012.
After university I Went back home to Gauteng to do internship at Helen Joseph hospital. Then Moved to the northwest province to do community service at Tshepong hospital where I did general surgery. Continued my training in general surgery at CMJAH. After general surgery I got a registrar post in cardiothorasic surgery. I did it for 9 months and quickly realized it was not my calling, I was meant to be elsewhere!
After cardiothorasic surgery I took a year off full time clinical medicine and during this time an interest for urology was sparked.
I officially started my career in urology in 2019 as a medical officer in the department of urology in Groote Schuur hospital Cape Town. I am currently doing my 1st year as a registrar, and loving it!
My interests outside of medicine include cooking, baking, art and music. I believe in a balanced lifestyle so I exercise as much as I can, my favorite early morning activity is running. I love nature and enjoy the outdoors. When I can I hike, participation in park runs/10km runs and take long walks on the beach.
